A majority of Tanzanians rely on wood and agriculture for their energy needs, causing deforestation and environmental degradation. Deforested areas no longer provide a home for wildlife leading to loss of wild life and are also susceptible to soil erosion. This also means that the people of Tananzania can't use as much of the animal furs or just animals to eat because of the loss of the animals in the environment. The economy has been transitioning from a command economy to a market economy since 1985.
